Drought forces Kozienice and Połaniec power plants to cut output

Low water levels in the Vistula river, caused by drought and heat waves, have forced the Kozienice and Połaniec power plants to reduce output due to cooling problems. Henryk Kaliś, head of the Industrial Energy Chamber, called the situation worrying: "Two of Poland's key power plants having cooling problems is not good news." The ongoing heat wave is simultaneously increasing energy demand, making the situation worse.
