Spotify partners with Merlin to let fans create AI remixes and covers of indie tracks

Spotify has announced that Merlin, representing over 30,000 independent labels and distributors, has joined Universal Music Group in backing its upcoming AI-powered remix and covers tool. The paid feature will allow fans to create AI-generated covers and remixes of participating artists' music. Artists must opt in, will receive credit, and will be compensated for every use.
