Togo emerges as new transit point for Russian weapons shipments to Mali

On 9 July, the Russian vessel Mikhail Britnev — under US sanctions — unloaded military vehicles at the Port of Lomé in Togo. It marks the first documented instance of Togo being used as a transit stop for Russian weapons bound for Mali, part of Moscow's ongoing support for the Malian military government.
