Heatwave cuts 1.1 GW from Polish grid as Vistula cooling fails — PSE says situation stable

High temperatures have caused cooling problems at the Połaniec and Kozienice power plants, which rely on Vistula river water, reducing national grid capacity by around 1.1 GW. Poland's transmission system operator PSE says sufficient reserves remain and energy supply security is not at risk. PSE's Wojciech Krzyczkowski stated that a repeat of the 2015 energy crisis is unlikely, describing the current situation as "many times better."
