Russia withdraws from Volleyball World Championship in Poland, citing security concerns

The International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) announced on Tuesday that Russia will compete in next year's Nations League but has withdrawn from the Volleyball World Championship to be held in Poland. Russian federation president Stanislav Shevchenko stated the withdrawal was made "for security reasons". Shevchenko also took the opportunity to criticise the upcoming tournament on Polish soil.
