Scientists 3D-print tungsten carbide cobalt — one of Earth's hardest metals

Researchers developed a new 3D-printing technique for tungsten carbide cobalt that achieves industrial-grade hardness while using less of the expensive raw material. By softening rather than fully melting the metal, they produced defect-free samples, potentially making manufacturing of hard components significantly more efficient.
