"Krajeńskie apples" near Bydgoszcz earn EU protected designation

The European Commission has officially registered "jabłka krajeńskie" (Krajeńskie apples) from the Kujawy-Pomerania region near Bydgoszcz as a protected designation of origin. The apples are noted for being sweeter and firmer than other varieties. They join Poland's two other EU-protected apple varieties — from Grójec and Łęczyca.
