Heatwave cuts output at Polish power plants as Vistula water level drops
Power plants in Połaniec and Kozienice have shut down some generating units due to low water levels in the Vistula River, which is used for cooling. Enea confirmed the capacity reductions. Poland's grid operator PSE warned of so-called "call periods" — an alert indicating a shortfall in available generating capacity — on Tuesday 4 August between 5 and 7 p.m.
