Fake student IDs for foreigners: Polish prosecutors open investigation

Polish prosecutors have reversed course and opened an investigation into a large-scale scheme involving fake student ID cards and enrolment certificates issued to foreigners — mainly Colombians — to circumvent Polish law. The case was exposed in an Onet investigation; one of the people featured came forward to say she had unknowingly taken part in the crime. Prosecutors had initially refused to open a case but changed their decision in recent days.
