Legionella outbreak in Basel: 26 infected, one dead, source traced to cooling systems
An unusually large outbreak of Legionnaires' disease has been confirmed in central Basel, Switzerland, with 26 people infected over two weeks. One person died and seven required treatment in intensive care. Health authorities identified cooling systems on the roof of an office building as the most likely source, with the bacteria detected in eight installations.
