Record 28°C night temperatures in Slovakia and Czechia — heat paralyses rail, cuts water supply

Slovakia and Czechia recorded historically high overnight temperatures reaching nearly 28°C, breaking all-time records. The extreme heat and drought disrupted rail services, raised wildfire risk, and cut off some Czech municipalities from drinking water. The heatwave continues to grip Central Europe.
