US cyclosporiasis outbreak: 18,000 infected, two deaths reported

The United States is experiencing an outbreak of cyclosporiasis, a parasitic illness causing severe diarrhoea, with 18,000 infections recorded so far. Michigan's Department of Health has reported the first two deaths linked to the outbreak; both victims had serious underlying health conditions. The outbreak continues to spread across the country.
