World's highest frozen lake cracks along China-India disputed border

An ISS astronaut photographed the fractured ice surface of Pangong Lake (Pangong Tso) on January 25, 2024. The lake sits at 4,225 metres on the Tibetan Plateau and stretches 134 kilometres across the India-administered Ladakh region and Chinese Tibet. The crack line in the ice closely follows the disputed border between the two countries.
