'Spider-Man: Brand New Day' opens to third-biggest UK weekend ever

Sony's "Spider-Man: Brand New Day" debuted to £36.4 million ($48.9 million) in the U.K. and Ireland, marking the third-highest opening weekend in British box-office history. Only "Avengers: Endgame" ($58.3M) and "Spectre" ($55.5M) have posted bigger launches in the market. The film topped the regional chart in its opening frame.
