Polish transmission system operator PSE declared a capacity market call-up period for the second time this year, requiring market participants to deliver over 2 GW of power or cut consumption between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Tuesday. The trigger is extreme heat putting heavy strain on the national grid. This is only the fourth time in the history of the mechanism that such a step has been taken.
