Paks nuclear plant narrowly avoided shutdown as Danube hits critical low

Hungary's Paks nuclear power plant narrowly avoided a complete shutdown overnight Monday-Tuesday as the Danube reached critically low water levels. Prime Minister Péter Magyar said that around 1:30 a.m. the situation was critical, but water levels stabilised and rose by 1.5 cm by morning. The plant's last turbine is now operating safely.
