Brussels-Charleroi airport to close for months for runway overhaul — Ryanair affected

The operator of Brussels-Charleroi airport (BSCA) and the Walloon government have officially confirmed that the airport will close entirely for several weeks for a full runway overhaul and infrastructure upgrade. Charleroi is Belgium's second-largest airport and one of Ryanair's most important European bases. Airlines will need to reroute flights during the closure, which is still more than two years away.
