Warsaw housing co-op may sell last green space to pay off debts
A heavily indebted housing cooperative in Warsaw's Koło district is considering selling a plot of land with over a dozen mature trees and a playground — the last significant green space between residential blocks — to pay off multi-million zloty debts. Residents fear losing greenery, light and privacy as a consequence of years-old financial mismanagement. The co-op's chairman acknowledged: "I wouldn't want to be in their position."
