Ceuta exposes EU migration gap — the migration pact is not enough

The Ceuta crisis has exposed the EU's lack of effective tools for handling extreme migration situations. Similar crises occurred in Greece in 2020 and on the Lithuanian, Polish and Latvian borders with Belarus in 2021. According to this opinion piece, the EU migration pact is insufficient given growing migration pressure and must be supplemented with emergency mechanisms.
