Petković sacked as Algeria coach despite contract until 2028, ahead of World Cup

Vladimir Petković has been officially dismissed as head coach of the Algerian national football team, despite having recently extended his contract until 2028 ahead of the World Cup. The Algerian football federation released an official statement confirming his departure. Algeria are now without a manager ahead of the upcoming World Cup.
