German cancer survivors in politics push for 'right to be forgotten' law

German politicians who have survived cancer are leading calls to protect long-term remission patients from discrimination in areas such as bank loans, child adoption and insurance. The proposed "right to be forgotten" (RTBF) policy would shield approximately 5.5 million former cancer patients in Germany who have been declared cancer-free by their doctors. Campaigners say such discrimination is rampant and harms patients even after full recovery.
