Got a missed call from an unknown number? Check it first — it could be a costly scam

Scammers use the "wangiri" method — making a single brief call and hanging up, hoping the victim will call back at premium rates that can cost tens of zlotys per minute. The trick is easy to spot: before calling back any unknown number, check it online or in a premium-rate number database. Many Poles have already lost money falling for this scheme.
