NHS breast cancer checks miss up to 95% of at-risk women under 50
Researchers warn that up to 95% of younger women with a higher risk of developing breast cancer are being missed by current NHS screening programmes. The existing checks are focused on older patients, leaving a large share of at-risk under-50s without early detection. Scientists are calling for the screening system to be expanded and reformed.
