AI-proctored UNAM exam disaster: 58,000 students must retake it

Nearly 160,000 applicants to UNAM, Mexico's largest university, sat its entrance exam entirely remotely for the first time, monitored by AI-powered webcam proctoring software. Results were wildly anomalous — the share of students scoring 100 or more out of 120 jumped from 3.5% in prior years to 16.3%. As a result, 58,000 students must retake the exam.
