Drying Danube threatens nuclear power in Romania and Hungary as cooling water runs low

Dangerously low water levels on the Danube are threatening the operation of nuclear power plants in Hungary and Romania. Hungary's Paks plant is running at just around 10% capacity due to insufficient river cooling water. In Romania, the military blew up underwater rock outcrops to improve water flow to the Cernavodă nuclear plant.
