Poland appeals €1.3B Brussels ruling ordering payment to Pfizer for Covid vaccines
Poland has appealed a Brussels court ruling ordering Warsaw to accept roughly 64 million unwanted Covid-19 doses and pay Pfizer approximately €1.3 billion. The Health Ministry said the first-instance judgment failed to consider all relevant factual and legal circumstances, and Poland would use "all legal means of defence." Poland halted vaccine deliveries in 2022, citing collapsed demand and Russia's war on Ukraine. Warsaw has also asked the court to freeze provisional enforcement of the ruling while the appeal is heard.
