White farmers still dominate land ownership in South Africa despite 30 years of reform

New research shows that market-based land reform in South Africa since 1994 has frequently benefited white farmers rather than reducing the deep inequalities inherited from the apartheid era. The structure of land ownership remains largely unchanged three decades after the transition to democracy.
