Ex-German ambassador: Russia built a digital conscription system that could stop men from fleeing

Alexander Graf Lambsdorff, former German ambassador to Moscow, warns that Russia has built digital tools it lacked during the 2022 mobilisation, making it far harder for conscripts to flee the country. He considers another call-up a realistic scenario, with the new digital system capable of tracking and blocking potential draftees at the border. Lambsdorff says that unlike in 2022, there will be little escape for those summoned.
