Denmark launches 11-month conscription, including women, amid Russia and Trump pressures

Around 1,600 Danish recruits began an 11-month service period on Monday under Denmark's new extended conscription system. Service length was increased from four to eleven months, women are included for the first time, and annual conscript numbers are set to rise to 7,500 by 2033. Denmark will also deploy over 100 conscripts to Greenland later this month, amid repeated US annexation demands from President Trump.
