Red IMGW alert issued — temperatures near 40°C expected in south-east Poland

Poland's Institute of Meteorology and Water Management (IMGW) has issued its highest-level, third-degree warnings across much of the country ahead of an extreme heatwave. Temperatures in the south-east are forecast to approach 40°C in the shade. The intense heat is expected to persist until Thursday.
