EU can fine Anthropic and OpenAI up to €15 million under AI Act enforcement

The European Commission now has powers to inspect AI models, restrict market access and fine providers up to €15 million or 3% of global turnover under the EU AI Act. Firms including Anthropic and OpenAI are among those facing the new scrutiny. The AI Act is the world's first comprehensive legal framework governing artificial intelligence.
