Alibaba launches its largest AI model yet, claiming to rival OpenAI and Anthropic

Chinese tech giant Alibaba has released Qwen3.8-Max, which it describes as its largest and most capable AI model to date. The company claims the model's performance rivals top systems from US labs OpenAI and Anthropic, as well as domestic rival Moonshot AI's Kimi K3. The model is being made widely available to users.
