Magnitude 5.6 quake hits Suez, building collapses, thousands report damage

Egypt's National Research Institute of Astronomy and Geophysics recorded a magnitude 5.6 earthquake in Suez, striking shortly after 3:00 a.m. local time. A four-storey building collapsed in the aftermath, and thousands of damage reports were filed. The tremors were felt across the wider Middle East region.
