Investigative portal Onet revealed that bodies decomposed for months in the mortuary of Warsaw's UCK WUM hospital, known as the Banacha hospital. The facility had outsourced management of its cold storage to a private company, which witnesses say led to decomposing bodies, illegal funeral services and serious neglect. The hospital is one of Poland's largest clinical facilities.
