Bartłomiej Kubkowski swims the entire Baltic Sea — a world first

Bartłomiej "Foka" Kubkowski became the first person in the world to swim the entire Baltic Sea, crossing from Sweden to Poland without sleeping or touching the escort boat. The feat lasted 55 hours over a distance of 170 km and was his fifth attempt. His fourth attempt the previous year ended dramatically when hallucinations and extreme exhaustion forced him out of the water just 11 km short of the finish.
