Poles cross into Germany and Czech Republic for cheaper pellets due to lower VAT

Lower VAT rates on wood pellets in Germany and the Czech Republic make fuel prices significantly more attractive than in Poland. Poles are increasingly crossing the border to buy pellets before the autumn heating season begins. The phenomenon has been dubbed "heating tourism."
