Aung San Suu Kyi meets Red Cross official for first time since 2021 coup

Myanmar's president's office announced that imprisoned Nobel Peace Prize laureate Aung San Suu Kyi has met with a Red Cross official. The military deposed her government in February 2021, triggering an ongoing civil war that has killed more than 100,000 people on all sides. The meeting is the first known access to Suu Kyi by an international humanitarian organisation since the coup.
