Over 90% of infants hospitalised with RSV had no identified risk factors

In the 2025/2026 season, 8,568 infants were hospitalised in Poland due to RSV infection, with over 90% having no identified risk factors for severe illness. This means the threat extends beyond high-risk groups to virtually all young infants. Advances in prevention, including new prophylactic treatments, now make it possible to reduce severe cases even among full-term babies.
