Hungary shuts Paks nuclear plant as Danube water levels critically low
Record-low water levels on the Danube are threatening cooling operations at Hungary's sole nuclear power plant in Paks. Prime Minister Peter Magyar urged citizens to keep saving energy, noting that efforts so far have cut consumption by 700 MW. Hungary is bracing for what officials describe as the most critical five days of the current heatwave.
