WhatsApp scam: one code and your account is gone — even a deputy minister fell victim

Thieves are hijacking WhatsApp accounts by posing as contest voting invitations and tricking users into sharing their one-time verification codes. Even politicians, including a prominent deputy minister, have fallen victim to the scheme. Both CERT Polska and the Ministry of Internal Affairs have issued warnings. The key protection: never share an SMS verification code with anyone.
