Danube drought forces Hungary to halt last turbine at Paks nuclear plant; WWII mines surface

Critically low water levels on the Danube forced Hungarian authorities to shut down the last operating turbine at the Paks nuclear power plant, which supplies half of Hungary's electricity. Receding waters also uncovered anti-tank mines from World War II in the centre of Budapest. The crisis is driven by extreme heat and drought.
