From 2 August, AI must identify itself: chatbots and deepfakes require mandatory labelling

New EU rules in force from 2 August require companies to inform customers when they are speaking with an AI rather than a human. Deepfakes and certain machine-generated content must be clearly labelled. The regulations are designed to protect consumers from disinformation and manipulation.
