Polish government admits railways were unprepared for heatwave, new standards promised

Deputy Infrastructure Minister Piotr Malepszak admitted to parliament that Poland's railways were unprepared for the extreme heatwave at the turn of June and July. The government announced new design standards for rail infrastructure and plans to purchase trains with more effective air conditioning. The heatwave caused widespread disruptions across the national rail network.
