South Korea records all-time high of 42.5°C, warns to stop outdoor activities

The south-eastern South Korean city of Yangsan hit 42.5°C on Sunday, the highest temperature recorded in the country since modern weather observation began in 1904. Authorities urged people to immediately stop all outdoor activities in affected areas and warned that indoor spaces without air conditioning are dangerous. It was the fifth consecutive day with temperatures above 40°C.
