Tatra guides chief warns of illegal tours, flares and mass transport plans in the mountains
Piotr Mazik, head of the Tatra Mountain Guides Association, has warned of sharp internal conflicts among guides and a growing problem of illegal tourist tours in the Tatras. He also flagged the presence of football hooligans setting off flares on mountain peaks and safety concerns over plans for mass transport to Morskie Oko lake. Mazik says the combination of issues amounts to a serious crisis in the mountains.
