Over a third of US senators are 70+. Most Americans want mandatory retirement age

The average age of current US Congress members is among the highest in history, with over one third of senators aged 70 or older. A majority of Americans view the large number of elderly lawmakers as a serious problem and support mandatory retirement ages for members of Congress. The issue was highlighted by CNN on Wednesday.
