Heathrow expansion costs to be passed on to passengers via higher fares

The UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has approved Heathrow Airport Limited's request to recoup planning and development costs incurred since the start of last year. The funds will be recovered through higher charges levied on airlines, which typically pass such costs on to passengers in the form of higher ticket prices. Travellers flying from Heathrow should expect fares to rise as a result.
