Capital One closed Trump Organization accounts after money laundering probe
Capital One formally defended its 2021 closure of more than 300 Trump-affiliated bank accounts, stating the decision followed an anti-money laundering review. Lawyers for the Trump Organization had previously claimed the closures were politically motivated. This marks the first time a bank has formally linked money laundering concerns to Donald Trump's family business.
