France: 224,000 evacuees allowed home as new wildfire flares up in Var department
A wildfire in France's southeastern Var department, which had been brought under control three days earlier, flared up again on Friday, forcing nearly 2,500 people to evacuate overnight. Meanwhile, most of the 224,000 evacuees displaced by other fires have been allowed to return home. In Gironde, France's largest wildfire in over 70 years was recently brought under control.
