WHO: Current Ebola outbreak in DR Congo is worst ever, 1,587 dead
The World Health Organization has declared the current Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo the worst ever recorded there, with 1,587 deaths so far. There is currently no approved vaccine or treatment for this strain of the virus. The absence of medical countermeasures makes containment extremely difficult.
